In 2001, the Mr. Goodcents Foundation was formed as a not-for-profit corporation to fulfill the ‘promise’ and in 2004 received IRS designation as a charity.
• Community Transportation is our primary focus. Imagine the horror when a parent or grandparent learns driving is no longer safe. Imagine depending on family and friends. Feel the depression and isolation. ‘Good Rides’ is a strategy that helps communities give the freedom to live!
• Housing – Your home is full of memories. You raised your children. You know your neighbors. You know your way around. Now imagine you can’t navigate the stairs; the hallways are too narrow… What do you do?
Our Mission: To Improve How Seniors Live and Age.
The Mr. Goodcents Foundation was born with a young man’s promise… Joe Bisogno was a ‘late in life’ baby. By the time he reached high school, his parents were suffering from chronic illnesses that had taken away much of their freedom. Joe saw tears, isolation and many other symptoms of a ‘place’ that was no longer supporting his parents’ ability to live well. He saw few places for help as people told him taking care of aging parents is a ‘family issue.’ With that he made a promise to someday create a Foundation whose sole purpose was to improve how we live and age – to be actively engaged in works to help seniors. To help seniors live independently for hopefully a lifetime!
